Kindermusik is a music and movement program for children!  The Kindermusik experience for families includes the enjoyment of making music while listening, moving, vocalizing, playing together and experiencing basic music concepts.  Classes are age and developmentally appropriate and promote language development, symbolic thinking, motor skills and social interaction.  In addition, Kindermusik classes prepare children for instrumental lessons, singing in a choir or participating in an ensemble while encouraging and appreciation of music for a lifetime!  Weekly home materials are a part of all Kindermusik curricula and reinforce the learning experience between classes.

 

 

Kindermusik allows the child to grow without pressure to perform and provides the encouragement to explore, express, and discover.

Provides wide array of sounds, images, and movement activities for baby to experience.  As part of the Village class material you will receive a home journal to document your observations of baby’s preferences, antics, and responses.  Classes are 45 minutes in length.

Focuses on the child’s natural emotional development.  Curriculum is centered on the exploration of instruments, textures, sounds, and movement.  Language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, and vocal play.  Creative dancing to different musical moods affirms the child’s urge to move.  The anticipation and rewards of listening are introduced and, with turn-taking activities, social skills blossom.  Classes are 45 minutes in length.

Provides appropriate experiences for sharing the joy of music with young preschool children.  The teacher leads the class in singing and vocal play, movement, listening, creating, exploring musical concepts, and playing instruments.  The class time is 45 minutes in length.

Classes include parent/caregiver for the last 10 minutes

Prepares children for instrumental lessons, singing in a choir, participating in music and movement classes or an ensemble.  Each 60 minute class includes ear training, reading musical notation and note values, voice training, ensemble experience, movement, creative activities, and acquaintance with musical instruments and literature from all over the world.  There are four semesters in the Young Child curriculum.

 

Ages:  5 - 7 years old

Semester:  15 weeks long

Classes include parent/caregiver for the last 15 minutes
